OhioHealth $20M cancer center to open Oct. 24

OhioHealth Marion Cancer Center, a $20 million, 24,000-square-foot facility, will open on Oct. 24, Marion Star reported.

The center, located on the main floor of Marion (Ohio) General Hospital, will provide radiation oncology, infusion services, medical oncology, hematology, surgery, rehabilitation and support services. It will also offer integrated care services like massage and art therapy, dry needling, and meals for patients with infusion appointments longer than four hours.

The centralization of physician offices will also allow patients to see multiple physicians at the same appointment.

"The patient can see both of us on the same day instead of coming for two appointments. Come one day, see us, see them, and have a plan, go home. So that's what most of the comprehensive cancer center does: the patient can come there, radiation can see them over there, oncology and surgeon can see them over here," lead cancer care physician Arvinder Bhinder, MD, told Marion Star.
