LSU Healthcare Announces Collaboration With Walgreens' Take Care Clinic

New Orleans-based Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and the LSU Healthcare Network have entered into a collaborative partnership with Walgreens' Take Care Clinic locations in the New Orleans area to improve care coordination and expand opportunities for nurse practitioner training, according to a Take Care Health Systems news release.

As part of the relationship, students in the LSUHSC nurse practitioner training program will have the opportunity to percept at Take Care clinics in the New Orleans area. LSU Healthcare and Take Care will also share electronic health records, physicians from LSU will serve as collaborating physicians for the clinics and Take Care Clinic will participate in LSU's development of a regional medical plan for certain non-insured working persons.

In addition, LSUHN health professionals will share information on Take Care Clinics and other healthcare options when their locations are closed or they are unable to schedule an appointment within a patient's desired timeframe.
