Several physicians, registered nurses and other healthcare professionals are running for office at the local, state and federal levels during the midterm elections Nov. 6.
Becker's Hospital Review compiled a list of candidates with healthcare credentials who are running for federal office or re-election during the midterm elections.
Here are 24 candidates running for the seats in the U.S. House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate:

1. State Sen. Leah Vukmir, MSN, BSN, is the Republican nominee running for a Wisconsin Senate seat.
2. Republican Sen. John Barrasso, MD, is running for re-election in Wyoming.
House
3. Republican House nominee Jim Maxwell, MD, is running in New York to replace deceased Democratic incumbent Louise Slaughter.
4. Dawn Barlow, MD, is a Tennessee Democrat running for the U.S. House.
5. Democratic nominee State Sen. Jeff Van Drew, DDS, is running in the House race in New Jersey.
6. Lauren Underwood, RN, is the Democratic nominee running against Republican incumbent Randy Hultgren in Illinois.
7. The Democratic nominee for a House race in Michigan is Matt Longjohn, MD. He is running against Republican incumbent Fred Upton.
8. Steve Ferrara, MD, is the Republican nominee running against Democrat Greg Stanton in a House race in Arizona.
9. Hiral Tipirneni, MD, is the Democratic nominee for House in Arizona. She is running against Republican incumbent Debbie Lesko.
10. Kim Schrier, MD, is the Democratic nominee running for a U.S. House seat in Washington to replace outgoing Republican incumbent Dave Reichert.
