Seattle's Swedish Medical Center to Open Stand-Alone ER

Swedish Medical Center in Seattle will open a stand-alone emergency department in Everett, Wash., next week, according to a news release by the hospital.

The new facility will feature an ER with 18 exam rooms, laboratory services and on-site primary and specialty care physician offices.

The Swedish/Mill Creek ER & Outpatient Center is intended to provide residents of Snohomish and King County with closer emergency care. The facility is patterned after Swedish's stand-alone ER in Issaquah, Wash., which opened in 2005 as the first freestanding ER in the region.
