Mount Sinai Hospital Opens $7M Clinic Under Illinois Jobs Initiative

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn announced the opening of the new $7 million Mount Sinai Hospital Health Clinic in Chicago.

The health clinic will allow Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago to relocate its specialty clinics, including clinics for cardiology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, nephrology, general surgery, vascular surgery and several pediatric subspecialties, in one location. Consolidating the clinics in one larger facility will create efficiencies and enable the hospital to care for the increased Medicaid population under healthcare reform.

The clinics will be located on the third floor of the Sinai Community Institute Building which also houses several community programs, including a Women, Infant and Children program.

The construction project created or supported nearly 200 jobs; is part of Gov. Quinn's $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program that began in 2009 and will support an estimated 439,000 construction jobs over six years.
