10 providers with a commitment to frontline workers

Frontline workers — patient intake coordinators, medical assistants, certified nursing assistants and dietary service staff, for example — are the face of hospitals and health systems, yet executives may find it difficult to engage and connect with these workers.

To recognize provider organizations that have significantly invested in the skill and career development of frontline workers, CareerSTAT named 10 healthcare employers to its 2015 "Frontline Healthcare Worker Champions" recognition program.

These organizations are honored for improving retention, employee engagement and access to sustainable on-site training and development opportunities.

Here are the 10 Frontline Healthcare Worker Champions of 2015.

  • Cleveland Clinic.
  • East Boston Hospital.
  • Homebridge Inc. (San Francisco).
  • Partners Health Care (Boston).
  • Penn Medicine (Philadelphia).
  • The League of Voluntary Hospitals (New York).
  • Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center Barnabas Health.
  • UnityPoint Health (Des Moines, Iowa).
  • Genesis HealthCare (Towson, Md.).
  • Urban Health Plan (Bronx, N.Y.).

The following organizations were recognized as 2015 Emerging Healthcare Worker Organizations.

CareerSTAT is an initiative from the National Fund for Workforce Solutions and Jobs for the Future. This is the second year it has named Frontline Healthcare Worker Champions.
