Temple University Health System, West Penn Allegheny Partner on Pittsburgh Medical School Campus

Philadelphia-based Temple University Health System will oversee a new partnership across the state of Pennsylvania with Pittsburgh-based West Penn Allegheny Health System, according to a Temple News report.

According to the report, WPAHS already serves as a clinical campus for Temple medical students who are in their third and fourth years, but the new partnership will launch a medical school campus that will allow undergraduate medical students to study in Pittsburgh all four years of their medical school graduation.

The four-year undergraduate campus at WPAHS is scheduled to begin in 2012, with 30 students projected for the first class, and Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh will be the primary clinical education site.
