Missouri's Ozarks Community Hospital No Longer Physician-Owned

Ozarks Community Hospital in Springfield, Mo., is no longer physician-owned after physicians divested their shares due to healthcare reform restrictions on expansion, according to a News-Leader report.

The physicians owned shares in SGOH Acquisition, the company that owns the hospital. The physicians divested their shares because of the provisions in healthcare reform which restrict the expansion of physician-owned hospitals, according to the report. SGOH redeemed the physicians' shares and continues to be a locally owned, for-profit corporation.
