Bloomington, Minn.-based HealthPartners hired Jim Eppel to serve as executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
Currently, Mr. Eppel serves as CEO of Minneapolis-based insurer UCare. He will assume his new role in July.
Previously, Mr. Eppel has served as COO at Eagan-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and vice president of business development at Minneapolis-based Allina Health.
"Jim Eppel is one of the most thoughtful and talented healthcare leaders in the region and he will be an excellent addition to the HealthPartners senior leadership team," said outgoing HealthPartners CEO Mary Brainerd. Ms. Brainerd is retiring in June, and Andrea Walsh, currently executive vice president of HealthPartners, will succeed her.
