Hannibal Regional breaks ground on $61M expansion

Hannibal (Miss.) Regional Healthcare System broke ground Tuesday on a $61 million expansion project, according to the Hannibal Courier-Post.

The project includes constructing a new 88,000-square-foot medical facility and renovating surgical suites and a two-story wing to expand the intensive care units.

"It [the expansion project] says our organization is certainly committed to ensure that not only we have the staff and the physicians, but also we have the facilities to take care of people locally," Hannibal Regional Healthcare System President and CEO Todd Ahrens told the Hannibal Courier-Post.

The expansion is expected to be completed in 2020.
