TriStar Health Joint Venture to Bring 15 Urgent Care Centers to Tennessee

A joint venture between HCA's Brentwood, Tenn.-based TriStar Health System and urgent care center chain CareSpot may bring as many as 15 urgent care centers to Tennessee in 2013, according to a news release.

"The new urgent care centers will enhance healthcare services provided by our primary care physicians and deliver a more rapid, less expensive alternative to emergency room visits for non-emergency injuries and illnesses," TriStar Health President Steve Corbeil said in a statement.
CareSpot, formerly known as Solantic, is a walk-in urgent center chain also based in Brentwood, co-founded in 2001 by former HCA executive and current Florida Gov. Rick Scott. It is one of the largest urgent care providers in Florida with 29 centers in metropolitan areas in that state.

TriStar Health has 18 hospitals and 10 ambulatory surgery centers in Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia.
