What's Your State's Uninsured Rate?

Last week, the U.S. Census Bureau released figures showing that the number of uninsured Americans dropped by roughly 1.4 million last year, and the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey breaks down those figures state by state.


Here are the individual uninsured rates for each state in 2011.

Alabama: 14.3 percent
Alaska: 20.1 percent
Arizona: 17.2 percent
Arkansas: 17.1 percent
California: 18.1 percent
Colorado: 15.1 percent
Connecticut: 8.8 percent
Delaware: 9.4 percent
District of Columbia: 6.9 percent
Florida: 20.9 percent
Georgia: 19.6 percent
Hawaii: 7.1 percent
Idaho: 16.5 percent
Illinois: 13.1 percent
Indiana: 14.5 percent
Iowa: 8.9 percent
Kansas: 12.6 percent
Kentucky: 14.4 percent
Louisiana: 17.5 percent
Maine: 10.7 percent
Maryland: 10.4 percent
Massachusetts: 4.3 percent
Michigan: 11.8 percent
Minnesota: 8.8 percent
Mississippi: 17.7 percent
Missouri: 13.7 percent
Montana: 18.3 percent
Nebraska: 11.4 percent
Nevada: 21.9 percent
New Hampshire: 10.5 percent
New Jersey: 13.1 percent
