Veritas Capital Finalizes Purchase of Thomson Reuters Healthcare; Unveils Truven Health Analytics

The $1.25 billion sale of Thomson Reuters Healthcare to an affiliate of Veritas Capital in April has resulted in a newly independent company called Truven Health Analytics.

The new entity will operate in a similar vein to Thomson Reuters — Truven will provide data, analytics and performance benchmarking solutions for hospitals, health systems and other healthcare-related entities. Its services are designed to help companies identify savings, improve outcomes, detect fraud and better manage healthcare operations.

"The healthcare industry is constantly striving for higher quality and improved efficiency, and our new partnership with Veritas Capital will help us harness the power of our world class team to tackle some of the industry's biggest challenges," said Mike Boswood, president and CEO of Truven Health Analytics. "We're eager to realize the potential that our future holds."

Truven has principal offices in Ann Arbor, Mich., Chicago and Denver.
