Rep. Nancy Pelosi Expects 6-3 Supreme Court Vote in Favor of PPACA

Former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) expects the Supreme Court to uphold the "ironclad" Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in a 6 to 3 vote, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

Rep. Pelosi expressed her confidence in President Barack Obama's legislation, even providing an anticipated breakdown of the vote — something few political leaders have been prepared to comment on, according to the report. The court is expected to deliver its opinion by the end of this month.

"I know the Constitution — this bill is ironclad," Rep. Pelosi said in the report. "Nobody was frivolous with the Constitution and the health of the American people in writing the bill. That's where my confidence springs from: the merit of the bill and the nature of the Constitution. The makeup of the court — well, we'll see."
