Wise Regional Health System in Decatur, Texas, will sell $19 million in bonds as it looks to purchase the bankrupt North Texas Community Hospital in Bridgeport, according to a Wise County Messenger report.
Earlier this month, Wise Regional emerged as the only buyer of 35-bed NTCH, which filed for bankruptcy last year. A bankruptcy judge approved Wise Regional's sale Feb. 4.
Steve Summers, CEO of Wise Regional, told the Wise County Messenger the deal could be finalized as early as March 5 and by the end of March at the latest, depending on when the Texas attorney general's office approves it.
