Florida's Winter Haven Hospital Seeks Non-Profit Partner

Winter Haven (Fla.) Hospital is seeking partnership with another non-profit hospital in the area and has declined discussions with for-profit companies that have expressed interest, according to a News Chief report.

WHH President Lance Anastasio said he has discussed partnership opportunities with Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Medical Center — the other non-profit hospital in the county. The other hospitals in the county are operated by for-profit companies. WHH has also spoken with Orlando (Fla.) Regional Medical Center and BayCare Health System in Clearwater.

WHH already has agreements with Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville for its emergency department physicians and on-staff urologists. The hospital is continuing discussions with Shands about other arrangements, according to the report.
