Future of Tulare Regional Medical Center CEO Shawn Bolouki Unclear

The fate of Shawn Bolouki as CEO for Tulare (Calif.) Regional Medical Center is unclear and his resignation may be pending, according to a Visalia Times-Delta report.

Tulare Regional's officials held a meeting for Mr. Bolouki's annual review this past Friday, but no public comment was made on the matter. According to the report, Mr. Bolouki's apparent departure was evidenced in the actions of several medical staff members who thanked him for his service.

The rumors of Mr. Bolouki's departure come during a time of high profits for the hospital, according to the report. He is credited with helping transition the hospital's operating loss of almost $1 million in 2008 to a profit of over $2.1 million in 2009. According to the report, Mr. Bolouki was compensated $365,150 a year and is eligible for a one-time construction management bonus of nearly $110,000 in 2011. Additionally, he could be eligible for a continuing performance bonus of $100,000 a year.
