Medtronic Receives FDA 510(k) Clearance for Reveal LINQ Insertable Cardiac Monitor

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave Minneapolis-based Medtronic 510(k) clearance for its Reveal LINQ Insertable Cardiac Monitoring system, according to a news release.

At one-third the size of a AAA battery, the Reveal LINQ is the smallest insertable cardiac monitoring system available to patients, yet it has 20 percent more data memory, according to the news release.

"This miniaturized monitoring system is the result of many years of product development work from engineers focused on shrinking the size of medical devices while maintaining their power and improving benefits for patients," said Pat Mackin, president of the Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management business and senior vice president at Medtronic, in the news release.
