The Joint Commission names 3 C-suite leaders

 The Joint Commission named three people to its executive leadership team May 1, each of whom will report to the organization's president and CEO, Jonathan Perlin, MD, PhD. 

  • Jean Courtney has been selected as the accrediting body's executive vice president and chief operating officer. She most recently served as interim president and CEO for Joint Commission Resources and Joint Commision International. 

 

  • Kenn Grubbs, DNP, RN, will serve as chief nursing officer and executive vice president of accreditation and certification operations. Dr. Grubbs is currently the vice president of regulatory and accreditation services for Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, consulting facilities on clinical regulatory compliance and survey readiness. 

 

  • Paul Gerrard was named executive vice president and chief brand and communications officer. He will join the organization from Brian Communications, a communications agency. 

 

Ms. Courtney's appointment is effective immediately, while Dr. Grubbs and Mr. Gerrard's appointments are effective June 1.
