    An advisory group formed to consider bids for New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., has voted unanimously to recommend the hospital pursue a partnership with Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health, according to The Charlotte Observer.

    Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke's Health System assumed management of Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kan., on July 1, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.

    Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems has completed the sale of Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston to Allegiance Health Management. 
  • Advocate Aurora sells 2 hospitals for $190M

    Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Health has completed its $190 million acquisition of two hospitals from Advocate Aurora Health, which has dual headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill., and Milwaukee.

    Mount Sinai Health System and Richmond University Medical Center, both based in New York City, have entered an academic and clinical partnership, according to the Staten Island Advance.

    After a year of working to clear regulatory hurdles, two Boston health centers — East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and the South End Community Health Center — have merged, according to the Boston Globe.

    Orlando (Fla.) Health on July 1 completed its acquisition of St. Cloud (Fla.) Regional Medical Center from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.

    Guidance on vertical mergers got its first major overhaul from the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice in more than 35 years under new joint guidelines published June 30.
  • 22 parties interested in buying bankrupt hospital chain sign nondisclosures

    Twenty-two parties interested in purchasing some or all of Americore Holdings' assets have signed nondisclosure agreements, according to a Chapter 11 trustee status report published June 17. Americore Holdings is a Florida-based three-hospital network that filed for bankruptcy in December.

    Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems became the largest for-profit hospital operator in the nation in 2014 when it acquired Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates. Now, the company is selling off hospitals to pay down its debt.
  • Novant Health, UNC Health unveil new details of proposed partnership

    Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health has completed its divestiture of Galesburg (Ill.) Cottage Hospital, according to WGIL.
