Georgia's Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Cuts Prices, Expects Boost in Business

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga., has finalized a budget for the coming year that includes slashed prices for some procedures, according to a WALB report.

The price of other medical procedures will remain the same. The hospital is expecting a major boost in business next year, with an anticipated $1.18 billion in patient revenue. According to the report, the hospital lowered the price of PET/CT scans by 20 percent.

Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens recently approved Phoebe Putney's acquisition of Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Ga. However, Phoebe Putney's purchase of Albany, Ga.-based Palmyra Medical Center is still pending.
