Florida's Lee Memorial Health System May Freeze Employee Salaries, Bonuses

Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, Fla., may freeze employee salaries and postpone its management bonus program, according to a News-Press report.

The health system is facing up to $18 million in Medicaid cuts next year, and the decision to freeze all employee salaries was made to avoid layoffs, the report said.

If Lee Memorial earns more than expected next year, non-management staff receiving passing scores on their December performance reviews could be eligible for a productivity bonus, but there is no certainty around that compensation proposal.
