Froedtert Health CEO Bill Petasnick Resigns

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee has announced longtime CEO William Petasnick's decision to resign, effective July 1.

Mr. Petasnick has served Froedtert Health for 19 years. When he began his career with the organization, Milwaukee County was facing significant deficits at its county hospital. Mr. Petasnick worked to change the model of care, with Milwaukee County becoming a purchaser of care and Froedtert Hospital expanding into a full-service academic medical center, through a partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Under his tenure, annual revenues for Froedtert Hospital have risen from $140 million to $1.2 billion.

Prior to joining Froedtert Hospital, Mr. Petasnick held executive roles at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, University of North Carolina Hospitals at Chapel Hill (N.C.) and the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison.

Mr. Petasnick plans to remain on Froedtert's board of directors as vice chairman. Catherine Jacobson, currently president of Froedtert Health, will succeed him as president and CEO.
