Top 5 things patients want in a patient portal

The most-requested patient portal feature is online appointment scheduling, according to a new survey from EHR consultancy Software Advice.

The survey of 1,540 U.S. patients revealed the following to be the functionalities patients want most in their patient portal:

Schedule appointments online (24 percent)
View lab and test results (22 percent)
View bills or make payments (21 percent)
Check prescriptions or refills (19 percent)
Send email to staff (10 percent)
