Better, which offers an app that facilitates the process of filing out-of-network insurance claims, pledged to donate 100 percent of its early revenue to alleviate the medical debt burden of Americans.

To help reach their goal, Better recently partnered with RIP Medical Debt, a New York City-based nonprofit organization that eliminates unpaid medical debt.

Through Better’s app, patients take pictures of their medical receipts. The Better staff then reviews the documents and contacts payers and providers to fix errors. After that process, Better files the claim with the health insurance company.
