KLAS: Healthcare consulting firms, ranked

Healthcare organizations ranked Nordic and Deloitte two of the top healthcare consulting firms in a February KLAS report.

For its report, KLAS interviewed 246 healthcare professionals — primarily CIOs (28 percent) —  who were tied to the 131 firms discussed in the report. KLAS was looking for firms that healthcare organizations consider "true partners," which respondents defined by expertise, customer-centric approaches, adaptability and collaborativeness, strategic, relationship-focused and trustworthy. In addition, KLAS identified the firms healthcare organizations said they would not use again.

Those conversations revealed the 12 most prominent firms, with focused firm Nordic and broad firm Deloitte emerging at the top. Impact Advisors, PwC and Navigant followed closely behind.

However, interviewees said they would not use the Advisory Board's services again, citing it as incompetent, an underdeliver and not strategic. Respondents also cited Deloitte, PwC, Huron Consulting and NTT Data as firms to avoid.

Still, about 84 percent of organizations are planning to use partners for future projects. Respondents said they were most likely to tap Accenture, Impact Advisors and PwC.
