Burlington, Vt.-based UVM Children's Hospital gathered clinicians, patients and their families to celebrate a $1 million donation from the New England Federal Credit Union for the hospital's NICU, according to Vermont Business Magazine.
The proposed renovations to the NICU would improve improve efficiency by consolidating the department on one floor.
"We've come to understand the exceptional work that all of the professionals here perform, which has an impact that lasts the entire lives of these tiny patients," said John Dwyer, president and CEO of the credit union. "When we heard that they were preparing to renovate their NICU, we wanted to kick off the fundraising for the project in a significant way."
