State to fund Boston Medical Center's behavioral health program after hospital looked to end services

The state is stepping in to fund Boston Medical Center's clinical services at the Roundhouse Hotel, a place where homeless patients could receive treatment for substance misuse and mental health conditions, after the hospital announced it would have to close the location due to lack of funding, boston.com reported March 15.

The funding from the state will allow clinical services to continue at the Roundhouse through the end of July so the hospital can wind down the program gradually and make other arrangements for patients.

Separate from clinical services, the hospital secured funding for 60 transitional housing locations at the site through June.
