30% of Americans received care at retail clinic in 2022

As more tech disruptors, such as Amazon and CVS, look to scoop up retail clinics; a report from AMN Healthcare found that 79.6 million American adults, or 30.3 percent of the population, had received care at a retail clinic in 2022.

In 2021, 23.8 percent of the population received care through a retail clinic. That number is projected to grow to 32.8 percent of the population in 2024.

The report found that younger patients were more likely to turn to retail clinics, such as Amazon-owned One Medical, than traditional primary care.
