Redwood Falls City Council Fires Redwood Area Hospital CEO Jim Schulte

Redwood Falls (Minn.) City Council has fired Jim Schulte as CEO of Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls after placing him on unpaid administrative leave May 3, according to a West Central Tribune report.

Mr. Schulte was placed on leave after the city received information alleging he may have received inappropriate travel expense reimbursements. According to the report, a criminal complaint alleges Mr. Schulte accepted reimbursement from a medical imaging equipment company for travel from August 2010 to November 2011 and that he filed for reimbursement from the city for the same trips, which the city paid.

Keith Muetzel was named as interim CEO in May after Mr. Schulte was placed on administrative leave.
