South Charleston, W.Va.-based Thomas Memorial Hospital is unveiling the addition of a new helipad, WCHS reported Dec. 8.
HealthNet Aeromedical Services will provide transportation services to Thomas Memorial. The opening of the helipad comes after the hospital announced it would double its number of intensive care unit beds.
"The helipad is a valuable addition to Thomas Memorial Hospital and a very visible sign of progress as we continue to look for ways we can expand and improve healthcare in the Kanawha Valley," Thomas Memorial Interim President and CEO Albert Wright Jr. said. "The decision to build the helipad was based on a desire to better serve critically ill patients when they need us most."
