Conducting More Effective Interviews

In a blog post, Steven Jarrett from Select International shares advice for interviewers to transition the process from an interview that is conducted to an interview that is conducted correctly.  

The first step? To introduce some level of structure to the interview, such as asking candidates similar questions and comparing candidates on the same competencies — regardless of the interviewer.

The next step is to ask questions that are job relevant and that probe candidates' prior professional experience with the competencies that are of interest.
