Mayo Clinic to house care plans on Wellpepper platform

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic will use patient engagement platform Wellpepper's new Marketplace to make its interactive care plans available to other health systems.

While Wellpepper has been operating since 2012, its new Marketplace is set to launch in the second quarter of 2018. The Marketplace will house patients' individual care plans from major health systems, like Mayo.

Wellpepper Marketplace customers, through any EHR, can use "Mayo Clinic care plan protocols to help patients follow their physicians' instructions outside the clinic to self-manage and improve their outcomes," according to Wellpepper.

The first Mayo Clinic Care Plans to be featured on Wellpepper Marketplace will be for cardiac rehabilitation, headache and sports medicine patients. Eventually, Mayo's care plans will include hundreds of patient interventions.
