Oregon's Ashland Community Hospital Weighs Partnership Options

Ashland (Ore.) Community Hospital is exploring partnership options with other independent hospitals or a hospital chain, according to a Mail Tribune report.

The hospital is still in the early stages of pursuing a partnership, as no attempts have been made to contact other health organizations and there are currently no candidates in the running, according to the report.

The hospital took on a $9.4 million Medicare shortfall last fiscal year. Officials say the rise in Medicare patients, decrease in Medicare reimbursements and demands of technology are increasingly difficult to manage.
