Northwestern Memorial HealthCare a Likely Buyer of Chicago Physician Practice

Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, a subsidiary of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare in Chicago, is exploring the purchase of Chicago Lake Shore Medical Associates, one of the largest independent physician practices in Chicago, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.

Another bidder for the physician group is the Northwestern Memorial Faculty Foundation in Chicago, which is affiliated with Northwestern's school of medicine. A Northwestern Memorial spokesperson said there is no "formal agreement" between Chicago Lake Shore Medical Associates and either group at this time, according to the report.

Chicago Lake Shore Medical Associates includes about 50 physicians and is owned solely by Robert Harvey, MD.
