In the spirit of Valentine's Day, Zocdoc has utilized data to break down an important relationship: the one between physicians and patients.
The data comes from the Zocdoc Doctor-Patient Relationship Survey, which was conducted between Jan. 5 and Jan. 8 among 1,025 Americans ages 18 and over.
In a graphic, Zocdoc outlined seven key findings from its survey.
1. Approximately 43 percent of respondents want a physician who can make them laugh.
2. Twenty-six percent said the appearance of their physician is important.
3. Around 82 percent of respondents have an ongoing relationship with a certain physician.
4. More respondents said they feel comfortable talking about embarrassing symptoms, family history and mental health with a longtime physician than with a new physician.
5. More respondents said they're comfortable discussing their sexual health with a longtime physician (67 percent) than with a longtime romantic partner (57 percent).
6. Forty-one percent of respondents believe keeping a long-term relationship with a physician is more challenging than with a romantic partner.
7. Approximately 72 percent of respondents would be more willing to give a second chance to a date than to a physician.
