5 practical habits of successful executives

Humans are creatures of habits, and though cultivating certain habits may not necessarily be a formula for success, there are some habits that all successful leaders share, according to Fortune.

Listed below are five habits of successful executives.

1. Hold meetings at the same location and book them back to back to utilize your time most efficiently instead of losing valuable time moving between meetings.

2. Organization at your desk may seem like a small step, but having a messy workplace can have surprisingly detrimental effects on your focus.

3. Stay connected with different aspects of your organization and don't be afraid to sit in on meetings across departments to keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening on the ground.

4. Learn something new every day and take the time to either read or talk to someone with a different field of expertise.

5. Ask why. So much of business is asking how a task will be completed, but take a step back every now and then and confront your problems with a wider lens.
