2 Emory scientists out for ties to China

Two unnamed faculty researchers are leaving their roles at Atlanta-based Emory University for foreign ties, according to Georgia Health News, a state-based healthcare news publication.

The faculty members failed to disclose foreign research funding and links to Chinese institutions, Emory told GHN. The university conducted an internal investigation after receiving a letter from the NIH regarding foreign influence on U.S. research.

Houston-based MD Anderson Cancer Center also recently moved to oust three researchers after the NIH prompted an investigation of faculty with potentially undisclosed ties to foreign institutions.
