Wentworth-Douglass in New Hampshire Cuts 37 Employees

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H., has laid off 37 workers and reduced the hours of nine employees to offset large state budget cuts, according to a Foster's Daily Democrat report.

Two weeks ago, WDH considered cutting the equivalent of 45 full-time employees, the report said. Affected employees will receive career services training, medical and dental insurance contributions for three months and salary for up to three months based on tenure.

The hospital faces a reduction of $10 million in annual Medicaid funds.
