Mayo Clinic Begins Much-Needed Expansion to Phoenix Campus

The Mayo Clinic in Phoenix is now undergoing construction to add nearly 2 million square feet to its hospital campus, according to an Arizona Republic news report.

Construction plans include two buildings, one structure that would be committed to educational meetings and conferences and a second structure that will serve as a cancer treatment center. Construction on the conference center already began earlier this year, and the cancer treatment center is still in its planning stages, according to the news report.

Mayo received approval to expand its hospital campus in 2009.
