Fort Walton Beach (Fla.) Medical Center has named Mitch Mongell CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2013.
Mr. Mongell is currently serving as CEO of Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, S.C., a position he has held for five years. In the past, he has served as COO of Atlantic Medical Center in Ormond Beach, Fla., Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Fla., and Memorial Hospital Jacksonville (Fla.).
Mr. Mongell is replacing John Deardorff, FACHE, who was named president and CEO of Reston (Va.) Hospital Center earlier this year.
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Colleton Medical Center and Reston Hospital Center are all affiliates of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA.
