Tecsys first partnered with Sanford Health seven years ago, according to an Aug. 8 Tecsys news release. Sanford Health uses the Tecsys Elite Healthcare supply chain platform. This platform is designed to eliminate redundant processes, automate data capture and expedite preference card — the catalog of tools, supplies and room setup a surgeon prefers for a particular procedure — picking processes.

“We are using the data that Tecsys generated over time to guide progressive optimization of our preference cards, and we far exceeded even our own internal targets. In arthroscopy, for example, we were hovering at about 63 percent accuracy. We set an accuracy target of 80 percent, and within the year we were sustaining a 92 percent average, hitting as high as 98 percent, which is simply unheard of in orthopedics,” said Susan Pfeifer, director of sterile processing at Sanford Health.
