Although few details have been provided regarding the hospital’s possible termination from the Medicare program, CMS Denver Regional Office spokesman Mike Fierberg told the Rapid City Journal the deficiencies were “fairly serious.”
A hospital spokeswoman said the issues were related to emergency services but provided no additional details, according to the report.
The hospital has submitted an action plan to CMS to address the deficiencies and will have a follow-up inspection before Dec. 12.
