HCA's New Deal With Cigna Extended for Two More Years

Hospital Corporation of America, headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., has struck a new deal with insurer Cigna that would allow Cigna beneficiaries to seek care at HCA's Florida hospitals for two more years, according to a South Florida Business Journal report.

Cigna and HCA's contract was due to expire Oct. 21, but the two organizations struggled to come to an agreement over HCA's demand for increased reimbursement for its 40 Florida hospitals. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

With a deadline of Oct. 1, HCA is still negotiating a new contract with Aetna, according to the report.
