Troubled Jackson Health System Could Offer New CEO Up to $975K

Miami-based Jackson Health System's governing board is expected to hammer out a pay package for new CEO Carlos Migoya on Thursday morning, according to a Miami Herald report.

Current CEO Eneida Roldan receives $665,000 in annual compensation. A compensation committee of the Public Health Trust, the system's governing body, said the CEO could receive "up to $975,000," though Commission Chairman Joe Martinez said he did not think the struggling system could afford to provide that level of compensation.

Mr. Migoya reportedly told media sources he was willing to take less than Ms. Roldan's current salary, though he said he would accept incentive bonuses if the system began to recover. Jackson Health is expected to lose $103 million in 2011, following two years of significant losses.
