The world's top hospitals for cardiac surgery

Seven of the top 10 cardiac surgery hospitals in the world are based in the U.S., according to Newsweek's 2024 "World's Best Hospitals" list.

Newsweek partnered with Statista for the ranking of hospitals across 30 countries and 12 specialties. A total of 150 hospitals made the list for cardiac surgery. Hospital scores were based on online surveys of tens of thousands of experts, accreditation data, and a patient reporting outcome measures survey. 

Here are the top hospitals in the world for cardiac surgery:

1. Mayo Clinic-Rochester (Minn.)

2. Cleveland Clinic-Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute

3. Massachusetts General Hospital-Corrigan Minehan Heart Center (Boston)

4. The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore)

5. New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell (New York City)

6. Deutsches Herzzentrum der Charité (Berlin)

7. The Mount Sinai Hospital (New York City)

8. Herzzentrum Leipzig (Germany)

9. Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston)

10. AP-HP - Hôpital Universitaire Pitié Salpêtrière (Paris)
