ChartWise's Flagship Product Now Supports ICD-9 & ICD-10

ChartWise Medical Systems, a computer-assisted clinical documentation improvement software company, has announced its flagship product, ChartWise:CDI, now includes support for ICD-9 and the forthcoming ICD-10 coding systems, according to a news release from ChartWise.

Coders using ChartWise:CDI can now hover over an ICD-9 code and view a pop-up displaying its corresponding ICD-10 code.

"Most CDI vendors are focusing solely on the software they will provide once ICD-10 hits," said Dr. Jon Elion, founder and CEO of ChartWise, in the release. "What we're looking to do is enable clinical documentation specialists and coders to become familiar with the new codes now. This exposure over the next couple years will prove invaluable when everything changes over."

Once the transition to ICD-10 occurs, ChartWise:CDI will include functionality to display the older, ICD-9 equivalent of the new ICD-10 codes.
