Salinas Valley Memorial Releases Names of Six Potential Partners, New Affiliation Timeline

Salinas (Calif.) Valley Memorial Hospital has released the names of six organizations that submitted affiliation proposals as well as a new affiliation timeline if the hospital board agrees to continue with the transaction process, according to a Monterey County Herald report.

The six organizations that submitted proposals by last week's March 7 deadline include:
•    Monterey County-owned Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, Calif.;
•    Community Hospital of the Monterey (Calif.) Peninsula;
•    HCA Healthcare in Nashville, Tenn.;
•    LHP Hospital Group headquartered in Plano, Texas;
•    Platinum Equity Vanguard Health Systems in Los Angeles;
•    Vanguard Health Systems in Nashville, Tenn.

Natividad released its proposal on its website. The proposal would combine Natividad and Salinas Valley into one single health system.

Community Hospital's proposal indicated interest in acquiring selected assets of Salinas Valley, according to the report.

Details of the other organizations' proposals will be posted on Salinas Valley's website next week.

Salinas Valley also released a new affiliation timeline, which includes beginning the second round of the process by March 22, selecting a final partner by May 24 and finalizing the affiliation in late fall.
