Former General Counsel of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

The former general counsel of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia — who was fired for embezzling $1.7 million — has agreed to plead guilty to charges of mail fraud, money laundering and filing a false tax return, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.

A signed document says Roosevelt Hairston, Jr., began stealing in 1999, paused in 2003 and resumed after 2007. Mr. Hairston has agreed to pay restitution and faces up to 43 years in jail.
