The number of Black CEOs running Fortune 500 companies has hit a record high of six in the 2022 list, reported Fortune May 23.
This is up from four CEOs in 2021. The six CEOs represent just over 1 percent of the entire list, a long way off equitable representation given the Black population in the U.S. stands at 13 percent.
Some of the Black CEOs that made the list this year include Thasunda Brown Duckett of TIAA, Robert Reffkin of Compass and Rosalind Brewer of Walgreens.
